Abstract Announces $25 Million Funding Round Co-led by Cheyenne Ventures and AVP

Abstract, a pioneer of composable security operations, has secured a $25 million funding round co-led by Cheyenne Ventures and AVP, with additional investment from Olive Hill Ventures, Crosslink Capital, and Rally Ventures. This funding brings the company's total funding to nearly $50 million. The investment follows a year of impressive growth, with Abstract achieving a 380% annual recurring revenue increase, 264% net revenue retention, and tripling its customer base.
The company's streaming-first platform enables organizations to modernize their security operations without being tied to a single vendor ecosystem. The funds will be used to expand in-stream detection coverage, extend Astro AI across the SOC workflow, and grow the go-to-market team to meet enterprise demand. Abstract's CEO and co-founder, Colby DeRodeff, emphasized the importance of AI-Gen Security Operations in providing organizations with control over their data, running detections while data is in motion, and embedding AI into every stage of security operations.
The company aims to continue building a generational cybersecurity platform with the new resources. The investment reflects the broader shift in security operations as enterprises move towards composable architectures. Cheyenne Ventures and AVP expressed their confidence in Abstract's vision and execution, highlighting the importance of owning data, routing it on their terms, and real-time threat detection. Abstract, founded in 2023, has established itself as a streaming-first platform available on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud marketplaces.
