Anthropic, the AI firm, is in the process of securing a fresh $10 billion funding with a valuation of $350 billion, as reported by The Wall Street Journal and confirmed by TechCrunch. This latest funding round, led by Coatue Management and GIC, is almost double the value of the company's previous Series F round of $13 billion at a $183 billion valuation.

The expected financing is separate from the $15 billion investment commitment from Nvidia and Microsoft, which involves Anthropic purchasing $30 billion of compute capacity from Microsoft Azure running on Nvidia’s chips.

The capital injection aligns with Anthropic's efforts to popularize Claude Code, an automation tool for coding, and prepares for a potential IPO this year, in competition with its rival OpenAI, which is also in talks for a significant funding round. Anthropic has chosen not to comment on these developments.
