Axiom Space, a provider of suits for NASA's moon missions and in the process of building a successor to the International Space Station, has announced a successful funding round of $350 million. The Qatar sovereign wealth fund and Type One Ventures led the round, with participation from Hungary-based IT company 4iG and 1789 Capital, with Donald Trump Jr. as a partner. Axiom Space, currently valued at over $2.5 billion, plans to utilize the funding for the development of spacesuit capabilities and the construction of modules one and two for its commercial space station.

CEO Jonathan Cirtain highlighted the strong support from institutional and strategic investors, reflecting Axiom Space's leadership position. The recent funding round comes at a crucial time for space technology, with increasing investor interest, particularly as SpaceX's potential IPO gains momentum and President Donald Trump's efforts to revitalize U.S. defense systems and return astronauts to the moon after half a century.

Axiom Space has a history of collaboration with SpaceX, and recently secured its fifth private astronaut mission from NASA, scheduled for January 2027. Amidst a challenging period for NASA, including leadership changes and workforce cuts, Axiom Space remains committed to delivering spacesuits to NASA by 2027. The company did not disclose its valuation at the time of the funding announcement.
