CopilotKit Raises $27M to Revolutionize AI Agents' User Interfaces

Seattle-based startup CopilotKit has secured $27 million in a Series A funding round led by Glilot Capital, NFX, and SignalFire. The company's AG-UI protocol, an open source protocol designed to standardize how AI agents connect to user interfaces, has gained widespread adoption in the market. The protocol provides features such as streaming chat, front-end tool calls, and state sharing, enabling human-in-the-loop functionality.

CopilotKit's enterprise toolkit built on top of AG-UI introduces support, self-hosted deployment features, and additional offerings for businesses seeking to integrate agents into their products. CEO Atai Barkai highlighted the capability of the company's framework to provide specifications and building blocks for dynamic user interfaces, allowing AI agents to generate custom UIs tailored to the context.

The funding will be utilized to expand the startup's team, which currently consists of 25 employees.
