Granola, a popular transcription app, has secured $125 million in Series C funding led by Danny Rimer at Index Ventures, with participation from Mamoon Hamid at Kleiner Perkins, tipping the company’s valuation to $1.5 billion. Existing investors like Lightspeed, Spark, and NFDG also participated in the round.

The startup, which previously raised $43 million, has now raised a total of $192 million. Granola, originally a prosumer app, has been expanding its features to suit an enterprise stack and has gained traction in companies such as Vanta, Gusto, Thumbtack, Asana, and others. The company is adding a new feature called Spaces, workspaces for teams, along with introducing two new APIs for integrating the context of notes into AI workflows. Granola co-founder, Chris Pedregal, noted the company's plans to launch APIs for users to access data in bulk.

The app already connects with various tools and is working on bringing more partners on board. As the value of meeting note-taking apps lies in enabling users and companies to take actions based on the notes and transcripts, Granola aims to facilitate this through its features and integrations.
