Harbinger Raises $160M in Series C Funding Led by FedEx for Electric Truck Production

Los Angeles-based electric truck startup Harbinger has secured $160 million in a Series C funding round co-led by FedEx, as it ramps up production of its commercial vehicle program. FedEx's investment includes an order for 53 of Harbinger's electric truck chassis, set to be completed by the end of the year.

Established in 2022 by former Canoo and QuantumScape employees, Harbinger focuses solely on medium-duty commercial truck chassis, which has contributed to its successful $100 million Series B funding earlier this year and the commencement of truck chassis production. Notably, FedEx and RV-builder THOR Industries have been among Harbinger's main clients, with the former's participation in the latest funding round alongside the Technology Impact Fund at Capricorn, Leitmotif, Tiger Global, Maniv Mobility, and Schematic Ventures.

The demand for electric trucks in commercial fleets has been highlighted by FedEx's involvement, signifying a shift towards mass adoption in the medium-duty truck sector. Harbinger's expansion into the Canadian market and the sale of over 200 chassis this year further solidify its position in the market.
