Israeli Startup Lightrun Secures $70M Series B Funding for AI-based Coding Debugging Platform

An Israeli startup, Lightrun, has raised $70 million in a Series B funding round for its observability platform designed to identify and debug code. The platform, called the Runtime Autonomous AI Debugger, was announced in 2024 and has led to a significant increase in the company's revenue. The new funding round was co-led by Accel and Insight Partners, with participation from Citi, Glilot Capital, GTM Capital, and Sorenson Capital.
Lightrun's customer base includes big-name clients such as Citi, ADP, AT&T, ICE/NYSE, Inditex, Microsoft, Priceline, Salesforce, and SAP. The company has experienced rapid growth due to the increasing demand for tools that address the challenges arising from AI-generated code. Lightrun's observability toolset monitors code in the integrated developer environments and automatically makes adjustments to the code as it moves into production to prevent interruptions and crashes.
The company plans to focus on enhancing its tools and talent in the IDE, with potential future developments in cybersecurity and code creation. Lightrun aims to address between 30% and 60% of all production issues stemming from code problems, positioning itself as a crucial player in the industry.
