Jericho Security Raises $15M Series A Funding for AI-Powered Cybersecurity Training Platform

Jericho Security, a New York-based cybersecurity startup, has successfully secured $15 million in Series A funding to further develop and expand its AI-powered cybersecurity training platform. The funding round, announced today, comes on the heels of the company's notable execution of a $1.8 million Department of Defense contract, propelling the two-year-old startup to prominence. The company's CEO, Sage Wohns, emphasized the increasing sophistication of cyber threats, highlighting the need for innovative cybersecurity training solutions.

The funding was led by Era Fund's Jasper Lau, who also supported the company's previous $3 million seed round. Other investors include Lux Capital, Dash Fund, Gaingels Enterprise Fund, Gaingels AI Fund, Distique Ventures, and Plug & Play Ventures, among others. Jericho's recent rise in the cybersecurity industry was marked by its selection by the Pentagon for a generative AI defense contract, further solidifying its position in the market. The company's AI-driven approach to security training, termed 'agentic AI,' adapts to individual behavior and aims to prepare employees for future threats. The platform's multi-channel simulations enable personalized attack scenarios, addressing the limitations of traditional security training.

Jericho's early data indicates a significant reduction in employees falling for phishing attempts after receiving AI-driven simulations. Notably, the company's platform also addresses the emerging threat of deepfake-enabled fraud and the exploitation of AI agents. This investment will primarily support research and development, go-to-market strategies, and team expansion, with a focus on AI and cybersecurity talent. Jericho has also introduced a self-service platform to cater to Small to Medium Businesses, allowing users to sign up for a free trial without the need for extensive sales processes. The company aims to address the evolving landscape of cybersecurity threats and redefine trust in digital environments by proactively preparing employees to recognize and respond to sophisticated attacks.
