NEW YORK and SAN FRANCISCO — July 10, 2025 — Knox, the largest federal managed cloud provider, today announced a $6.5 million seed round led by Felicis, with participation from Ridgeline and FirsthandVC. This investment will enable Knox to bring a vast number of cutting-edge AI and SaaS applications to government agencies through its FedRAMP-authorized secure boundary at a time when national security and government efficiencies depend on rapid technological modernization.

FedRAMP is the mandatory security authorization required by law that SaaS vendors must achieve in order to serve the U.S. government. Traditional processes typically take 3+ years and $3M+ per application. Today, of the 30,000+ SaaS providers, fewer than 500 have managed to obtain FedRAMP authorization.

Knox offers a faster, more agile path with its turnkey platform, which leverages AI heavily to not only automate manual processes but also contextualize decades of operational know-how into digital expert agents. Customers using Knox have demonstrated a record-breaking speed of achieving FedRAMP authorization within 90 days, without compromising on usability, security, and data privacy. To date, Knox is trusted by more than 15 federal and defense agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the Treasury Department, and the Marines.

"We are on a mission to bring the best technology innovation to our government," said Knox CEO Irina Denisenko. "Technologies such as AI can drive transformational growth and productivity gains, which is critical for the United States to stay competitive as the global leader. Knox is working closely with key agencies to pioneer a secure AI infrastructure model that enables access to these applications without sacrificing control or security."

"Knox is solving one of the most urgent problems in government tech: how to safely accelerate adoption of AI and cloud software at scale," said Viviana Faga, General Partner at Felicis. "They’ve already proven themselves by running Adobe’s federal cloud, and we’re excited to help them scale."

“Coalfire is proud to support Knox as their FedRAMP 3PAO,” said Tom Galizia, President at Coalfire. “Their mission to modernize government operations through secure, compliant cloud solutions aligns closely with our own commitment to advancing trusted innovation in the public sector. We’re excited to deepen our partnership as they continue to raise the bar for speed, scale, and security in government cloud.”

Knox secures its managed federal cloud using KnoxAI, its proprietary AI auditor built using 10+ years of audit data running the cloud across more than 15 federal and DoD agencies. Today KnoxAI supports all three major hyperscalers: AWS, Azure, and GCP.
