MediView XR, Inc. Secures $24M Series A Funding to Advance Clinical Augmented Reality Technology

MediView XR, Inc., a pioneer in augmented reality (AR) surgical navigation, guidance, and image fusion, closed a $24 million Series A funding round with leading investment from GE HealthCare, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Edge Ventures, and the investment arm of Emplify Health, along with JobsOhio Growth Capital Fund.
The medtech company, built upon Cleveland Clinic-developed intellectual property, has introduced an FDA-cleared surgical navigation and imaging platform that allows clinicians to observe 3D anatomy through a patient's skin during medical procedures. This platform integrates advanced visualization with precision procedural guidance, revolutionizing the planning, navigation, and execution of minimally invasive procedures.
Mina Fahim, CEO of MediView, expressed the company's mission to simplify and inform medical procedures by providing clinicians with real-time 3D visualization and guidance tools. The latest funding will enable MediView to address long-standing challenges in medical imaging by offering a solution that replaces 2D imaging with 3D context overlaid directly into the patient's body, improving proceduralists' visualization of organs, tissue, vasculature, and target anatomy. The collaboration with GE HealthCare is aimed at transforming precision care by redefining how clinicians visualize anatomy in real-time to enhance procedural guidance and navigation.
Furthermore, the rapid advancements in AI combined with AR are set to transform surgery by streamlining medical workflows and potentially improving surgical operations, making them faster and more efficient. As a Cleveland, OH based med-tech company, MediView is focused on advancing healthcare delivery through intuitive visualization, seamless collaboration, and data-driven insights to make less invasive procedures more accessible.
