Mews Raises $75M to Meet Demand in Travel Industry

Amsterdam-based Mews, a 'unicorn' startup focusing on SaaS platform for hotel management, has secured $75 million in fresh funding. Despite uncertainties in the economy and geopolitics, the travel industry is projected to grow by 12% this year. Other travel startups have also seen substantial funding, indicating a positive trend in the market. Tiger Global led the funding round, with participation from Kinnevik, Battery Ventures, and Goldman Sachs Alternatives.
Mews plans to utilize the funds to continue its expansion and raise a larger round in the near future. The startup, which now serves 6,300 hotels, has witnessed significant growth, processing $10 billion in payments in 2024 and crossing $200 million in revenue.
Mews has been strategically expanding its services, including through acquisitions like Atomize for revenue management. With a focus on the U.S. market, the company has doubled its revenues in North America.
Founded in 2012, Mews offers a comprehensive platform for hotel management, with a recent emphasis on AI-driven innovations to enhance guest experiences. The company's customer base has expanded to include well-known hospitality brands, such as Best Western Hotels, Weekender, and Lark Hotels.
