North.cloud, the financial operating system for cloud, AI, and data, announced a $60 million Series B funding round led by PeakSpan Capital, with participation from Litquidity Ventures, Companyon Ventures, Alpaca, Uncommon Denominator, Gaingels, and Mana Ventures. The capital will accelerate autonomous optimization across cloud providers, deepen partnerships, expand AI spend management capabilities, and scale North’s engineering, product, and go-to-market teams. The company now manages nearly $2 billion in cloud spend and has helped customers save over $400 million while earning trust from AssemblyAI, Tines, Atlan, SnapLogic, Emplifi, and Imply.

North’s platform aims to consolidate FinOps by automating spend intelligence and optimization, reducing manual overhead and enabling faster, leaner technology investments. North CEO and co-founder Matt Biringer described the product as a fintech platform built on automation and AI that eliminates manual optimization, turning spend management into a ubiquitous business capability rather than a specialized engineering task. Recent product developments include North v3, which expanded coverage to Microsoft Azure and completed interoperability across all three major hyperscalers, along with native integrations with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Snowflake. The Autobot feature, North’s automated commitment laddering engine, was extended to further automate cloud spend commitments.

In addition to cloud infrastructure, North is expanding into AI spend with TokenFlow, which brings model usage, attribution, budgets, and financial controls into the same system used for cloud governance. This approach aligns with North’s view that cloud and AI/data spending are converging financial problems requiring a unified FinOps solution. Customers like AssemblyAI report that North’s platform maintains a savings rate around 50% even as infrastructure scales, with teams able to focus more on product development rather than cloud cost management. North’s platform is designed to provide comprehensive visibility and automated optimization across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, and to extend this capability to AI and data platforms as adoption grows. PeakSpan Capital partners emphasize that North’s approach targets not just visibility but the entire spend lifecycle, a stance that they believe will define the category leadership as organizations increasingly rely on AI and data capabilities. The round follows North’s strategic pivot toward an agentic managed service that automates the work of a full FinOps team.

This shift reflects a broader market trend where the cost of cloud and AI infrastructure has become the fastest-growing line item in many P&Ls, with significant waste estimated prior to AI/demand consolidation. North was represented by Founders Form in its latest financing. About North.cloud: North.cloud provides infrastructure spend intelligence and automation for modern businesses, enabling finance and engineering teams to understand, optimize, and automate spend across cloud, AI, and data from a single platform. The company claims a near $2 billion managed cloud spend footprint and highlights a 98.8% retention rate with a growing base of blue-chip customers.
