Oxide Secures $445M Series D Led by Eclipse as Profitability Spurs On-Prem Cloud Expansion

Oxide Computer Company, the Emeryville-based maker of rack-scale on-premises cloud systems, announced a $445 million Series D round led by Eclipse, with new participation from Atreides Management and AMD Ventures, and continued support from US Innovative Technology Fund (USIT), Riot Ventures, Jane Street and others. The infusion comes as Oxide achieved profitability earlier this year, a notable milestone for a hardware-scale business, and as demand outstrips current production capacity.
The funding will accelerate material sourcing, manufacturing expansion and servicing of existing and new customers in a market increasingly driven by agentic AI workloads that require integrated compute, memory, networking and storage. Oxide’s Cloud Computer combines purpose-built hardware with open-source software to deliver hyperscale-like capabilities in a customer’s data center, offering cloud-like automation while preserving ownership, security and cost control. CEO Steve Tuck emphasized the need to scale manufacturing by roughly 20x over the past year to meet accelerating on-prem cloud projects, while maintaining profitability that positions Oxide to invest in supply chain resilience for the long term.
Co-founders Bryan Cantrill and Tuck noted that enterprises increasingly seek ownership of their compute infrastructure without sacrificing cloud-grade modernization. AMD Ventures’ strategic investment deepens its collaboration with Oxide as agentic AI expands demands on compute, memory and networking. Sagi Paz, head of AMD Ventures, highlighted Oxide’s systems-level approach as aligning with AMD’s broader high-performance ecosystem objectives.
Oxide serves customers across financial services, government, national laboratories, aerospace and other compute-intensive sectors, and the new funding strengthens its ability to scale for critical workloads. For more information, visit oxide.computer.
