Physical Intelligence, a startup based in San Francisco, has successfully secured a $400 million funding round at a valuation of $2 billion. The financing was led by prominent investors including Jeff Bezos, Lux Capital, and Thrive Capital, with participation from OpenAI, Redpoint Ventures, and Bond.

The company, which specializes in developing brains for a variety of robots, had previously raised a $70 million seed round in March. The aim is to create a single generalist brain that can control any robot, rather than developing separate operating software for individual models. This funding round reflects the increasing interest in AI-enhanced foundational software for robotics, as seen in the significant investments made in similar companies such as Figure and Skild AI earlier this year.

The intersection of robotics and AI continues to attract substantial funding, marking a positive year for startups in this sector.
