Remark Secures $16M Series A Funding for AI-Powered E-commerce Expert Network

Remark, a startup, has taken a unique approach in the AI-powered e-commerce space by leveraging a network of human experts to chat with users during their purchase process. The company recently announced a $16 million Series A funding round led by Inspired Capital, with participation from Stripe, Neo, Spero Ventures, Shine Capital, and Visible Ventures. This brings the total funding raised to $27 million, which will be used to expand the team and invest in model training.

Remark's CEO, Theo Satloff, aims to address the low conversion rates on e-commerce sites by providing expert advice to online shoppers. The platform matches users with experts or AI bots based on their needs, and experts are compensated per chat and sales conversion. The startup also dynamically adjusts website content based on user conversations.

Inspired Capital's principal, Kamran Ali, emphasized the value of human insights in the age of AI-generated content, which attracted the VC firm to invest in Remark. The company is also developing features to create blog posts and personalized follow-up emails based on expert conversations.
