Renata Medical Secures $25 Million Funding for Pediatric Heart Disease Technology

Renata Medical, a privately held medical technology company based in Newport Beach, California, has successfully completed a $25 million Series D financing round. ARCHIMED, a global healthcare investment firm, led the funding round with participation from existing investors. The funds raised will be utilized to expand U.S. commercialization efforts for the Minima™ Stent System, enter international markets, advance the company's pipeline of pediatric-specific congenital heart disease (CHD) technology, and support ongoing clinical evidence generation.
Renata Medical's Co-founder and CEO, Dustin Armer, expressed that the adoption of the Minima™ Stent System has surpassed expectations since its commercial launch in 2024, and the support from ARCHIMED reaffirms the company's potential to revolutionize care for children with congenital heart disease. The Minima™ Stent System, the first balloon expandable growth stent tailored for neonates, infants, and young children with pulmonary artery stenosis or coarctation of the aorta, received FDA premarket approval in August 2024.
Additionally, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) granted the device a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) designation in August 2025, offering hospitals additional reimbursement support. André-Michel Ballester, Managing Partner at ARCHIMED, emphasized the significance of addressing the unmet needs of pediatric patients with congenital heart defects and expressed pride in supporting Renata Medical's efforts to scale the business and advance purpose-built pediatric therapies. Renata Medical, founded in 2019, is dedicated to developing cardiovascular devices specifically for pediatric patients worldwide.
