Respond.io, a Malaysian startup, has successfully raised a $62.5 million Series B round led by Camber Partners, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst and existing investors. Founded in 2017 by co-founder and CEO Gerardo Salandra, the company has seen significant growth, boasting $35 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and a 169% year-over-year growth.

Respond.io specializes in customer conversation management software, allowing mid- to large-sized B2C businesses to drive revenue from customer conversations across various messaging channels, using AI agents to handle high volumes of inquiries. The platform caters primarily to 'high-consideration' businesses in sectors such as healthcare, automotive, retail, education, and travel, and is designed for companies with 200 to 10,000 employees. Despite the rise of AI, Salandra is confident in Respond.io's position, emphasizing the platform's unique pricing model and the data flywheel effect.

With the fresh funding, Respond.io plans to focus on hiring, organic growth, and potential acquisitions, targeting technology that fits its ecosystem and teams with strong customer bases in strategic markets. The company aims to expand its presence in North America and Western Europe, expecting these regions to become its largest segment within two to three years. Salandra remains cautious about growth, emphasizing the company's disciplined approach, while expressing aspirations of eventually listing on Nasdaq.
