RISA Labs Raises $11.1M Series A Funding for AI Operating System in Oncology

RISA Labs, a company based in Palo Alto, has successfully concluded an $11.1 million Series A funding round for its innovative AI operating system designed for oncology. The financing was co-led by Cencora Ventures and Optum Ventures, and saw the participation of Oncology Ventures, Z21 Ventures, and John Simon, the co-founder of General Catalyst, through his Ventureforgood investment entity. This investment will support the rapid deployment of RISA's system across various cancer care facilities in the United States, revolutionizing the management of complex oncology workflows.
RISA's AI operating system aims to streamline patient access, benefits verification, and prior authorization processes, ultimately optimizing cancer service line operations. By directly integrating with electronic medical records, payer systems, and other records, RISA's AI agents can efficiently gather, process, and act upon relevant data, adapting to changes in real time to ensure reliability. The AI OS is tailored to handle the intricacies of cancer care, including complex payer rules, multi-drug regimens, and disease-specific requirements.
Moreover, RISA's BOSS Console allows institutions to customize workflows, routing, and rules to align with their specific operations, providing transparency and traceability for every AI action.Already implemented in major oncology practices, RISA's system has significantly reduced administrative workload, denials, and approval times, ultimately enhancing both capacity and efficiency. RISA Labs, founded by Kshitij Jaggi and Kumar Shivang, aims to further expand its AI-driven workflows in oncology, with plans to extend these capabilities to specialty pharmacy operations.
