Scale AI, a data foundry for AI, has successfully secured a $1 billion financing transaction, propelling the company to a valuation of nearly $14 billion. The funding round was spearheaded by existing investor Accel, with participation from a number of returning investors such as Y Combinator, Nat Friedman, Index Ventures, Founders Fund, Coatue, Thrive Capital, Spark Capital, NVIDIA, Tiger Global Management, Greenoaks, and Wellington Management. New investors including Cisco Investments, DFJ Growth, Intel Capital, ServiceNow Ventures, AMD Ventures, WCM, Amazon, Elad Gil, and Meta have joined the round.

The funding will facilitate Scale's mission to construct the data foundry for AI, accelerating the abundance of frontier data crucial for the journey towards artificial general intelligence. Scale has a proven track record of addressing data challenges for companies like OpenAI, Meta, and Microsoft. The financing will enable Scale to enhance its model evaluation work with enterprise customers, the U.S. Department of Defense, and its involvement in the White House-announced DEFCON 31 red-teaming event, expanding its capabilities for public and private evaluations.

Scale, as the data foundry for AI, powers the data essential for the entire AI lifecycle, ensuring that model builders and enterprises have the necessary data to confidently deploy AI.
