Schematic, a runtime monetization platform for SaaS and AI companies, has secured $6.5M in new funding, bringing its total funding to over $12M. The company is set to launch its Stripe App at the upcoming Stripe Sessions. The funding round was supported by S3 Ventures, MHS Capital, Active Capital, NextView Ventures, and Ritual Capital, with angel participation from the founders of LaunchDarkly, CrowdStrike, and Salesloft.

Schematic operates as an intermediary between a company's application and its billing system, separating pricing and packaging logic from code and enforcing entitlements in the product at runtime. The company's plans, limits, and exceptions are managed by product and commercial teams and automatically synchronized to Stripe for billing. Fynn Glover, co-founder and CEO of Schematic, highlighted the impact of AI on software, stating that pricing now needs to be enforced at runtime due to the non-deterministic nature of value and cost accrual.

The shift to usage-based, hybrid, and AI-driven models has rendered the traditional seat-based and static software pricing architecture unsustainable. Schematic's customer base includes Plotly, Automox, Florence, Blackcloak, Sema4.ai, Uniqode, OneCrew, Zep, and Pagos, with zero churn over the past year. The funding will be utilized to strengthen the partnership with Stripe, enhance the monetization control plane for go-to-market teams, and expand developer tooling and SDKs.

Schematic, founded in 2023, is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, and focuses on building runtime monetization infrastructure for SaaS and AI companies, natively on Stripe Billing.
