Tamr Secures $21 Million Growth Investment to Accelerate AI-Driven Data Mastering

Tamr, the AI-native master data management platform, today announced a $21 million growth equity round led by Volition Capital, with participation from existing investors. The funding will accelerate product innovation and expand Tamr’s agentic data mastering capabilities, helping enterprises move from AI pilots to production with a trusted data foundation. As organizations scale AI initiatives, clean, accurate data is essential to power decisions across CRM, ERP, procurement, data warehouses, and data lakes. Tamr unifies, cleans, and enriches fragmented enterprise data, enabling a single source of truth that supports enterprise AI, better decision-making, and revenue growth.
Old Mutual’s Group Chief Technology and Data Officer, Dhesen Ramsamy, commented on the partnership: “We are accelerating toward an AI-led financial services organization, and data that AI can trust is foundational. Tamr’s AI-native approach to real-time MDM helps us master millions of records from multiple product systems, addressing gaps legacy systems cannot.” Tamr’s roots trace back to MIT’s CSAIL, with founders including Dr. Michael Stonebraker—Turing Award winner—alongside Andy Palmer, Alex Pagan, Ihab Ilyas, Daniel Bruckner, and George Beskales. The company holds 19 patents in AI/ML mastering, clustering, and data curation, and serves customers across insurance, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, retail, and education. Under CEO Anthony Deighton, Tamr has seen SaaS revenue double in the last fiscal year, driven by ongoing product innovation.
The platform now features enhanced AI agents and the Curator Hub, a capabilities that pairs AI agents with human expertise for data curation. Recent updates include a Bring Your Own Agent architecture for low-code integration of custom AI agents, multi-domain mastering across products and locations, and enterprise knowledge graph functionality to surface cross-entity relationships. The new funding will further strengthen agentic data curation and context delivery, while expanding the platform’s AI and operational backbone. Deighton emphasized, “As enterprises deploy AI across more operations, data quality and reliability are non-negotiable. The only scalable solution to messy, siloed data is AI-powered data preparation for AI applications.” Volition Capital’s Tomy Han noted that data-layer hurdles stall enterprise AI programs and that Tamr’s AI-native architecture—where machine learning is the core, not a feature—sets it apart for blue-chip customers.
