Windmill, a company focused on building the context graph for people, has raised $12M in a seed round led by Inspired Capital. This investment round also saw participation from Primary Venture Partners, Founder Collective, and Oceans Ventures. The company, which has acquired over 100 customers including Kalshi, Rho, and Merge, since the launch of its performance reviews product in November 2025, aims to address the significant workforce transformation by providing infrastructure for companies to support their employees amid the rise of AI.

Windmill's CEO, Max Shaw, stressed the importance of ensuring that people are not left behind in the age of AI, highlighting the need to equip companies with tools to support employees rather than replacing them. The rise of AI has reshaped organizational structures, leading to the disappearance of management layers and the redefinition of roles. With AI empowering individuals, the value of each person in the workforce has increased, requiring companies to manage human skills, potential, and capabilities effectively. Brian Distelburger, co-founder at Windmill, emphasized the lack of systems for understanding and managing human potential within many companies, highlighting the need for a systematic approach to organize workforce context.

Windmill's efforts are focused on providing a comprehensive understanding of the workforce through its context graph, which is accessible via its AI agent, Windy, the Windmill web app, and full MCP and API support. The company's platform integrates with various workplace tools, such as Slack, GitHub, and Google Workspace, to streamline the performance review process.

Windmill's ultimate goal is to enable HR to lead strategically and empower managers to have a clear view of their teams. The company's vision is to create an environment where every person's work can speak for itself. Windmill prides itself on being the context graph for people, offering a continuous understanding of the workforce to facilitate strategic HR leadership and transparent team management.
