Apple Acquires MotionVFX to Enhance Final Cut Pro Capabilities

Apple has announced its acquisition of MotionVFX, a company specializing in the development of plug-ins, templates, and advanced features for Apple's Final Cut Pro video editing software. The financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed. MotionVFX expressed its enthusiasm about joining the Apple team, aiming to continue empowering creators and editors.

The Warsaw-based company, founded in 2009, provides subscription packages starting at $29 per month, offering professional-grade video editing tools, graphics, and templates. The integration of MotionVFX's tools into Apple's services is anticipated following the acquisition, potentially strengthening Apple's position in competing with Adobe Premiere Pro and the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

The acquisition aligns with Apple's strategy to attract more subscribers to its Creator Studio bundle, which has become a significant growth driver in its services business, accounting for over 26% of revenue in the last fiscal year, a substantial increase from 8.5% in 2015.
