Destinus Group BV Completes Acquisition of Daedalean AG for USD 225 Million

Destinus Group BV has successfully finalized the acquisition of Daedalean AG, a prominent Zürich-based leader in advanced AI systems for aviation, for a transaction valued at CHF 180 million. This strategic move will see Daedalean operating within Destinus as a pivotal AI engineering hub, focusing on autonomy research and advanced perception technologies. The acquisition is expected to significantly accelerate the deployment of defense-focused AI applications, including GNSS-denied navigation, advanced perception and seeker technologies, and autonomous decision-making for high-speed defense platforms.
Additionally, the integration will reinforce Destinus' ability to provide sovereign European AI capabilities and support the long-term modernization of civil aviation. Bas Gouverneur, former CEO of Daedalean, will take on the role of Chief Military Program Officer at Destinus, overseeing military programs and advanced autonomy strategy.
Mikhail Kokorich, Founder and CEO of Destinus, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, emphasizing the potential to accelerate the deployment of next-generation autonomous systems and advance AI technologies in both defense and civil aviation. He also extended gratitude to the Daedalean team, investors, shareholders, and legal advisors for their support.
Founded in 2016, Daedalean specializes in AI-based aviation systems for flight guidance, navigation, and situational awareness. On the other hand, Destinus is a European defense industrial company focused on developing and manufacturing AI-enabled autonomous systems for national and allied defense, with advanced production and integration facilities across Europe.
The acquisition solidifies Destinus' position in the industry, supporting its mission to provide sovereign, resilient, and scalable defense capabilities while reducing dependence on external suppliers.
