Harness, a leading AI DevOps Platform™ company, has announced its acquisition of Qwiet AI, a prominent agentic AI-powered vulnerability detection and reachability analysis firm previously known as ShiftLeft, Inc. The acquisition, effective September 26, 2025, follows the company's merger with Traceable earlier in March 2025. This move comes as Harness's application security business is anticipated to achieve $50M in ARR this year.

The software development landscape is witnessing rapid acceleration, driven by AI coding tools and practices like 'vibe coding.' However, the increased speed has led to AI-generated code inheriting insecure patterns, omitting safeguards, and introducing fabricated dependencies, resulting in a surge of hidden vulnerabilities. This has left security teams inundated with alerts, many of which are low-value or false positives, causing critical risks to go unnoticed. The gap between innovation and security is widening, posing challenges for enterprises aiming to scale AI while maintaining compliance and speed.

The acquisition of Qwiet AI signifies Harness's enhanced commitment to application security in the AI era, aligning with its vision for the future of software development, where security and speed are intertwined. The integration of Qwiet AI's advanced Code Property Graph (CPG) technology with the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, powered by Harness AI and combined with Traceable runtime data, will provide deeper application awareness and precision to vulnerability detection. This integration aims to highlight the significant risks, enabling faster remediation by developers and allowing security teams to focus on driving innovation.

The addition of Rahul Sood as General Manager further supports Harness's security leadership. Sood, an industry veteran with extensive leadership experience at companies such as Palo Alto Networks, Google Cloud, Pindrop, and SAP, is set to lead the application security business and steer strategy as Harness continues to build the most comprehensive AI DevSecOps platform. The acquisition of Qwiet AI strengthens Harness's existing security portfolio, ensuring the secure delivery of software from the initial step throughout the SDLC, establishing a new standard for enterprises to release software with speed, resiliency, and confidence.
