Motorola Solutions Set to Acquire Theatro Labs, Inc. for Frontline Worker AI Technology

Motorola Solutions, listed on the NYSE as MSI, has announced its acquisition of Theatro Labs, Inc., a Texas-based company specializing in AI and voice-powered communication and digital workflow software for frontline workers. Theatro's software-as-a-service platform is tailored to deliver real-time information to enhance productivity and safety for frontline workers. It allows users to utilize conversational language through a wearable device to seek guidance, check inventory and pricing, and communicate with colleagues.

 Furthermore, the technology supports employee safety by enabling discreet alerts to management and security teams, as well as offering step-by-step safety and incident protocol guidance. The software also integrates with video security cameras to identify potential threats and alert employees.

Theatro serves prominent U.S. retailers and the integration of complementary workflows across Motorola Solutions' technology portfolio is expected to provide added value to existing customers and open growth opportunities in various industries.

The transaction is anticipated to conclude in the first half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Both Motorola Solutions and Theatro will be present at NRF '25 - Retail's Big Show in New York City. Motorola Solutions is positioning itself to offer enhanced safety and security solutions by leveraging Theatro's AI technology for frontline workers.
