Netflix Acquires InterPositive Startup for $587 Million in Cash

Netflix recently disclosed in a new regulatory filing that it has acquired InterPositive, a startup co-founded by Ben Affleck, for $587 million in cash. The acquisition was initially announced in March, with Affleck expressing his desire to preserve the integrity of human creativity.

InterPositive's AI tools are designed to assist filmmakers in enhancing their post-production footage, addressing real-world production challenges such as missing shots, background replacements, and incorrect lighting. Although financial terms were not initially disclosed, a subsequent report from Bloomberg suggested that the deal could potentially be valued at up to $600 million.

Netflix also revealed that approximately 300 of its titles have already utilized generative AI in its latest earnings report.
