Ripple Acquires Standard Custody & Trust Company to Strengthen Crypto Infrastructure

Ripple, a leader in enterprise blockchain and crypto solutions, announced its has agreed to acquire Standard Custody & Trust Company, an enterprise-grade regulated platform for digital assets. This strategic move supports Ripple's commitment to regulatory compliance and will enable the company to bolster its existing product offerings while also exploring new complementary products. 

Ripple and its subsidiaries currently hold a New York BitLicense, nearly 40 money transmitter licenses across the U.S., a Major Payment Institution License from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and a Virtual Asset Service Provider registration with the Central Bank of Ireland.

Monica Long, Ripple President, emphasized the dedication of Ripple and Standard Custody to enabling enterprises to leverage blockchain for various financial use cases, building institutional-grade solutions for tokenizing, storing, moving, and exchanging value. Long also highlighted Ripple's strong financial standing, which positions the company to expand its product offerings, support new initiatives, and cater to a broader customer segment.

The acquisition of Standard Custody follows Ripple's acquisition last year's of Metaco, a custody solution favored by banks worldwide.
