RWS, a UK-listed global AI solutions provider, announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Acogroup, the parent company of Acolad, after concluding social consultations and securing the necessary regulatory approvals. The deal broadens RWS’s footprint in Europe and North America and enhances its AI platforms and content workflows, enabling enterprises to tackle complex language and content challenges with greater scale and quality. Following the close, Acogroup’s customer base will gain access to RWS’s Cultural Intelligence Layer, Language Weaver Pro, Trados, and a growing suite of AI platforms. The combined entity will support AI-powered workflows that maintain cultural relevance, uphold quality standards, and preserve essential human oversight. The integration is designed to accelerate international growth for customers while delivering more choice in AI-enabled language and content solutions.

RWS’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Faes, described the merger as a transformative chapter for both organizations and their clients. He stated that the combined group brings advanced tec.hnology together with specialist language and content expertise to help customers solve complex content challenges and expand into international markets. Faes welcomed Acolad colleagues to the RWS team and highlighted the anticipated benefits of the integration. Acolad contributes a robust enterprise customer base and strong capabilities in localization, interpreting, transcription, and data services. Its leadership in regulated sectors, public institutions, and medical devices complements RWS’s existing strengths, particularly in life sciences. The merger positions the combined company to deliver AI-powered, regulated, and culturally aware content services at scale.

RWS, headquartered in the United Kingdom and listed on AIM, positions itself as a global AI solutions partner for enterprises. Its proprietary Cultural Intelligence Layer draws on a global network of more than 250,000 data specialists, linguists, and domain experts, underpinned by more than 45 patents, to ensure culturally fluent, contextually accurate, and brand-consistent AI interactions. The company operates across Generate, Transform, and Protect segments, delivering intelligent content, enterprise knowledge management, large-scale localization, and IP protection to support global growth. RWS serves more than 80 of the world’s top brands, offering governance, security, and expertise to deploy AI safely and at scale.
