Schivo Expands Precision Molding Capabilities with Acquisition of Mecaplast SA

Schivo has made a strategic move by acquiring Mecaplast SA, a specialized Swiss manufacturer of high-precision injection-moulded plastics, metals, and ceramics for the medical device and life sciences sectors. With this acquisition, Schivo aims to enhance its expertise in advanced materials and reinforce its position as a trusted partner for sophisticated MedTech and Life Sciences technologies.

Mecaplast SA, established in 1971 in Botterens, Switzerland, is renowned for its technical excellence and quality in producing critical components, precision molds, and cleanroom assemblies for leading MedTech and Life Sciences OEMs. The company's modern, ISO 13485-certified facility, covering over 64,000 sq. ft., specializes in micro-molding, over-molding, injection molding, mold manufacturing, cleanroom assembly, and automation.

The acquisition bolsters Schivo's vertical integration, adding plastics, metal, and ceramic manufacturing, assembly, and value-added services. It will also establish a new European center of excellence, bringing advanced plastics and metal injection molding capabilities to the U.S. and Mexico operations, thereby enhancing support for MedTech and Life Sciences OEMs in key international markets.
