Siemens Digital Industries Software has finalized its acquisition of DownStream Technologies, a prominent provider of manufacturing data preparation solutions for printed circuit board (PCB) design. This strategic move bolsters Siemens' PCB design portfolio and expands its presence in the electronics small and medium-sized business (SMB) market. The integration of DownStream Technologies into Siemens EDA aims to deliver a comprehensive and advanced manufacturing data preparation solution, facilitating a smooth transition from design to production within a fully digitalized and scalable electronic systems design process.

DownStream Technologies, founded in 2002 and based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, specializes in manufacturing solutions for manufacturing data analysis and processing, as well as documenting PCB designs. Its CAM350 suite of tools is widely utilized for visualizing, verifying, and automatically preparing PCB design data for fabrication.

Additionally, the company's BluePrint-PCB tool automates the creation of detailed manufacturing documents, reducing errors and enhancing efficiency across the PCB development process. Siemens aims to integrate BluePrint-PCB with its PCB design solutions to provide customers with a seamless workflow, improving digital continuity and manufacturing readiness.
