Tech Startup Plain Raises $15M in Series A Funding, Online Labels Group Acquires LabelValue

Plain, a UK-based startup, has secured $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Battery Ventures, with continued participation from Index Ventures and Connect Ventures. The company, co-founded by Simon Rohrbach and Matt Vagni, aims to streamline customer support for businesses by consolidating communication channels such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Discord into an API-first platform.
This platform allows businesses to communicate with customers across various channels and provides traditional support functionality, including metrics around SLAs and response times. The funding will be used to establish the company's first U.S. office in San Francisco. Customers for Plain include companies like Sanity, Laravel, Stytch, and Raycast. In a statement, Neeraj Agrawal, a Battery Ventures general partner, highlighted the shift towards collaboration and AI in B2B support.
However, Plain faces competition from other players such as Thena and Pylon. Meanwhile, Online Labels Group has announced the acquisition of LabelValue, a distinguished provider of blank and custom labels based in Tampa, Florida. This strategic move reinforces Online Labels Group's industry leadership, enhancing its ability to deliver premier labeling solutions and expand its customer base.
The integration of LabelValue into Online Labels Group strengthens its ability to support and enhance existing product offerings, including blank labels, custom shrink sleeves, and labels for label makers. The acquisition enables the company to provide better service, improved expertise, and greater efficiency, ensuring businesses and consumers receive the best possible labeling solutions.
