As reported by TechCrunch, Particle.news, a new AI-powered news reader developed by former Twitter engineers, just launched in beta after raising $4.4 million in seed funding from Kindred Ventures, Adverb Ventures, as well as notable angel investors such as Ev Williams, co-founder of Twitter and Medium, and Scott Belsky, the founder of Behance.

The platform aims to offer a personalized, 'multi-perspective' news reading experience by utilizing AI to summarize news from diverse sources. It provides quick, bulleted summaries of news stories and enables users to explore the unfolding of a story over time. However, concerns have been raised about the potential impact of AI-summarized news on publishers' website traffic and advertising revenue. There are also questions surrounding Particle.news' business model and how it plans to fairly compensate authors and publishers.
