A new wave of AI-generated code, referred to as 'vibe coding,' has resulted in a flood of code overwhelming companies. The influx has led to concerns about the quality of the code, with reports highlighting bugs and other issues. In response to this, Gitar, a recently unveiled startup by industry veteran Ali-Reza Adl-Tabatabai, has secured $9 million in funding led by Venrock and Sierra Ventures.

Gitar's platform leverages AI agents to handle various code-quality tasks, such as code reviews and managing continuous integration workflows. The company aims to address the challenges brought about by AI-generated code by providing code validation services to ensure the trustworthiness of the code. Adl-Tabatabai envisions a future where Gitar's platform streamlines the software development process, minimizing the need for human code reviews. Gitar sets itself apart from competitors through its distinct focus on post-code generation.

The funding will support the expansion of Gitar's engineering and product teams as the company works on enhancing its services at scale.
