Aquaria Secures $112M to Build Sustainable Atmospheric Water Infrastructure
Aquaria, a company focused on providing communities and cities with water from the sky, has announced securing $112 million in funding from investors including Mistletoe, Ciri Ventures, Soma Capital, HF0, Bow Capital, Umami Capital and former House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt. This investment will aid in deploying Aquaria's solutions to qualifying projects and furthering the development and financing of sustainable, secure water supply solutions for residential, hospitality, and commercial properties.
Aquaria's technology, which harnesses water from the air, is modular, scalable, and aims to provide clean water in regions lacking sufficient access to traditional infrastructure. The company is also exploring opportunities in sectors such as green hydrogen production, mining, and data centers, where water provision is complex and costly. With project financing secured, Aquaria plans to cover 100% of the upfront costs for qualifying projects, lowering barriers to large-scale adoption and accelerating the commercialization of its atmospheric Hydrogrid technology. The company's mission is to make water accessible to all and to build faster, redundant, and resilient forms of water infrastructure. Aquaria's technology has already been implemented in the first homes in the world where the entire water supply is harnessed from the air, and the company is currently building 1,000 homes in Hawaii supplied by atmospheric water.
Furthermore, Aquaria has partnered with Upwell Water to facilitate the deployment of its solutions and has signed an agreement to provide $100 million for qualifying projects. The company envisions a world where entire cities are supplied with water from the sky and aims to address climate challenges and sustainability issues through its innovative technology. Aquaria's patented technologies have been developed in collaboration with Stanford University's Head of Atmospheric Sciences Program,
The company was founded in 2021 by brothers Brian and Eric Sheng, and aims to provide the highest water production while being the most energy efficient and affordable water tech on the market. Aquaria's scalable units enable developers to build on land without traditional infrastructure and water access, and can be deployed with solar and renewable energy options for net zero deployments.
