Bevel, a New York-based startup, has secured a $10 million Series A funding round led by General Catalyst to expand its AI health companion. The company aims to address the fragmentation of health data by unifying information from wearables and daily habits across sleep, fitness, and nutrition into personalized insights. This investment comes after a year of rapid growth for Bevel, with the user base expanding more than eightfold and now reaching over 100,000 daily active users.

The CEO, Grey Nguyen, stated that Bevel's approach focuses on continuous health improvement, with the app learning from user habits and guiding small changes over time. The company's COO, Aditya Agarwal, highlighted the need for a purely software-based product, as many existing health apps rely on expensive accompanying hardware. Bevel's subscription model offers accessibility, with users paying $6 monthly or $50 annually.

Unlike traditional wellness apps, Bevel integrates various health aspects into a single platform and is compatible with popular wearables like Apple Watch and continuous glucose monitors. Bevel Intelligence, the company's core software, analyzes user data and adapts recommendations based on individual responses to factors such as stress, movement, or nutrition. The startup's founding members, Grey Nguyen and Ben Yang, were inspired to create Bevel after experiencing health issues that went undiagnosed despite using wearables and seeking medical advice. These personal struggles led to the development of a platform that helps users understand the interconnectedness of their health data.

With the recent funding and no plans to enter the wearables market, Bevel aims to expand its team and explore additional services and partnerships to promote proactive health. General Catalyst's managing director, Neeraj Arora, expressed excitement about Bevel's potential to revolutionize personal health and its remarkable user engagement. The company has also received investment from South Park Commons, a venture capital firm. Bevel's vision to democratize health through intelligence and design aligns with its investors' goals, showcasing a promising future for the startup.
