Film.io Launches Decentralized Filmmaking Platform at SXSW 2024

Film.io announced today its launch of its decentralized filmmaking platform at SXSW 2024, aiming to empower independent creators globally and shift the control of Hollywood decision-making into the hands of creators and fans. Following its successful debut at the Sundance Film Festival, Film.io integrates blockchain technology to democratize the television and filmmaking process. 

Through its community-based Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), Web3 creators can submit their projects, which are then voted on by the platform’s users. Utilizing Film.io's native governance and utility $FAN Token, fans can engage with filmmakers by voting for and reviewing the projects they want to support, irrespective of traditional centralized control. This approach enhances a project's visibility, viability, and aids investors in identifying market-validated projects with pre-established audiences.

Film.io also enhances IP protection through its proprietary VaultLock® technology, enabling content creators to control the usage of their content. The platform fortifies project IP on an immutable, on-chain, public record and displays it as a QR code.
