Former GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke Raises Record Seed Round for AI Code Management Startup

Thomas Dohmke, the former CEO of GitHub, has secured the largest seed funding to date for a developer tool startup called Entire. Lead investor Felicis has backed Entire with a total of $60 million, valuing the startup at $300 million. Entire specializes in an open source tool that assists developers in managing code generated by AI agents.
The startup's technology comprises a git-compatible database to consolidate AI-produced code, a universal semantic reasoning layer to facilitate collaboration among multiple AI agents, and an AI-native user interface aimed at enhancing agent-to-human cooperation.
Entire's initial product, named Checkpoints, automatically associates each piece of software submitted by an AI agent with its originating context, enabling human developers to review, search, and potentially learn from the AI's actions. Dohmke emphasizes the pressing need to address the overwhelming volume of AI-generated code, particularly in popular open-source projects.
Notably, Dohmke departed from his role as GitHub CEO in August 2025 to establish his own startup. Other participants in the seed funding round include Madrona, M12, Basis Set, Harry Stebbings, Jerry Yang, and Datadog founder and CEO Olivier Pomel.
