Terra CO2 Raises $124.5M to Revolutionize Cement Production

Terra CO2, a startup based in Golden, Colorado, has secured a substantial $124.5 million in Series B funding to support the launch of its innovative low-carbon cement replacement. The company aims to address the environmental impact of traditional cement production, which contributes around 8% of carbon pollution.
Terra CO2's sustainable cementitious material (SCM) is poised to replace up to 40% of Portland cement in concrete, while emitting 70% less carbon dioxide. The funding, co-led by investors such as Bill Gates' Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Eagle Materials, GenZero, and Just Climate, will facilitate the construction of a large-scale SCM production facility near Dallas.
Additionally, the startup is working on a next-generation SCM that could entirely replace traditional cement.
