WeDoSolar Shifts to B2B Model with Acquisition by Genbyte Tech

In a significant move, WeDoSolar, a European startup focusing on solar energy, has transitioned to a B2B model following an acquisition by Genbyte Tech, a major Chinese solar company. Previously targeting individual consumers with innovative 'vertical solar panels' for balconies, WeDoSolar's shift comes after facing challenges in its original strategy. The undisclosed deal sees WeDoSolar gaining access to Genbyte Tech's infrastructure and technical expertise, allowing the startup to expand its operations and enter new markets. 

WeDoSolar, founded in 2021 by Karolina Attspodina and Qian Qin, will witness a change in leadership as Qin takes over as CEO. With Genbyte's support, the company plans to focus on serving resellers, property developers, and commercial enterprises.

Attspodina, while stepping down as CEO, will remain involved as a shareholder and board member. Looking ahead, she aims to explore opportunities in the Dual-Use/Defense sector while also assisting other founders with fundraising and projects.
