Imec.xpand Launches $320M Fund for Semiconductor and Nanotechnology Innovations

Imec.xpand, a venture capital fund specializing in chip and nanotechnology, has announced the launch of a new $320 million fund. Based in Leuven, Belgium, the fund aims to invest in startups with potential to disrupt the global semiconductor and nanotechnology domains.

Imec.xpand targets breakthrough technologies such as AI, ML, AR/VR, photonics, and life sciences applications including cell therapy and sequencing. Additionally, the fund expresses interest in AI, biotech semiconductors, and quantum computing.

 

The fund's investment portfolio includes companies such as Celestial AI, PsiQuantum, and Swave Photonics, which are working on disruptive technologies in their respective markets. Imec.xpand's unique management, global reach, and dedicated semiconductor focus set it apart from other venture capital initiatives. Leveraging technical expertise for due diligence and to help startups, the fund is able to take on more technology risks than others.
